Through the Northwest Territories’ Provincial Nominee Program (NTNP), prospective immigrants with the targeted knowledge and skills may receive a Provincial Nomination Certificate, allowing them to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence.(NTNP)
The NTNP has two programmes, one with three streams:
The NTNP Express Entry Stream for Skilled Workers nominates Express Entry candidates who meet NWT Skilled Worker criteria. Foreign nationals in the federal Express Entry pool can apply to this stream.
The NTNP Skilled Worker Stream allows the NWT government to nominate skilled workers with job offers from NWT employers. Applicants must have worked six months in the NWT.
NTNP Entry Level/Semi-Skilled Occupations helps NWT employers fill entry-level job shortages when they can’t find a Canadian candidate locally or nationally. Applicants must have worked six months in the NWT.
The NTNP Business Stream is for foreign nationals who can start, acquire, or invest in a Northwest Territories business that creates jobs.
