Best Immigration News Digest for Canada CVIS Immigration – Jan 27, 2023 – 24 RNIP applications was evaluated by Sudbury.

The City of Greater Sudbury held a second round of invitations for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot on January 26, 2023. (RNIP). Sudbury considered 24 candidates in this round. The lowest score in these drawings was 250 points, which was an increase of 70 points from the draw before it.

 

Each candidate had a single qualified job and made more than $20 per hour. A total of 154 individuals were asked to apply last year. Since the program’s inception, Sudbury has recommended at least 249 people under the RNIP.

On January 26, 2023, the second round of invitations for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) was sent out. During round #166, the MPNP gave out 253 LAAs in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. The LAA needed 726 points to qualify in this division, which is 8 points less than the previous draw.

 

Manitoba distributed 23 LAAs under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream. Similar to round #165, the lowest SWO category score was 713 points. In the international education stream, 60 invitations were also sent out. For this round, Manitoba has given LAAs to 336 people, including 32 people who used Express Entry. 59 of the 658 individuals who applied for the MPNP’s 2023 openings were invited via Express Entry.

The government of Manitoba gave $800,000 in urgent humanitarian supplies and more than 300 soft body armor vests to help them fight.

 

The Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization (MEMO) oversees coordinating the support with housing placement, job search assistance, healthcare & mental healthcare services, and educational programs for children. In addition, they have established a Ukrainian Refugee Task Force.

Best Immigration News Digest for Canada CVIS Immigration – Jan 27, 2023 – Processing times have returned to pre-pandemic levels at Canadian Immigration.

Minister of Families, Children, and Social Development Karina Gould says that 98 percent of the backlog of passport applications has been taken care of, which means that the backlog is almost gone. Turnaround times have since returned to pre-pandemic levels at all passport offices.

Since April 2022, Service Canada has already given out more than two million passports. A news release from Gould’s office says that another 1.5 million passports are expected to be given out by the end of this fiscal year.
