The federal government of Canada uses a points-based system called Express Entry (EE) to facilitate the permanent settlement of skilled immigrants. A pool of EE profiles is used to choose applicants. After being chosen, an applicant is extended an invitation to apply for PR.

The EE scheme uses a CRS system to rank & filter international applicants according on their credentials (education, language proficiency, and job experience). EE is a set of policies & procedures designed to encourage highly-skilled foreign nationals to relocate to Canada. Checking one’s eligibility for EE is the first step in the application process. The overall number of points earned is taken into account. You need at least 67 points to be eligible for EE under the FSW.
If an applicant meets the point requirements, they will be invited to submit a profile for consideration into the EE Pool 2023. The FSWP, the CEC, the FSTP, & the PNP are the four primary EE streams. All of the programs have separate point systems and prerequisites that potential participants must fulfill. The cost of applying through EE may vary from one applicant to the next. Each application will incur the processing cost (CAD $850). Candidates who desire to bring a spouse or partner must also pay the processing cost for their companion. Any candidate planning to apply for PR in the future must pay the right of permanent residence fee (CAD $515). Do you have a child? The right of PR fee is CAD $230. If the government requests biometric information from the candidate, they will be responsible for the biometrics charge (CAD $85).
