New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program

New Brunswick is a northeastern Maritime province. 30 percent of New Brunswick’s population speaks French as a first language, making it Canada’s only officially bilingual province. (NBPNP)

Through the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP), skilled immigrants can receive a provincial nomination certificate. Foreign nationals can apply for permanent residence with this nomination. The NBPNP accepts these immigration categories:

New Brunswick immigration has five streams. This page helps you choose an immigration stream.

 

Express Entry Stream

This stream allows NBPNP to use Express Entry to meet New Brunswick’s labour market and demographic needs. This stream uses an EOI model.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have an active Express Entry profile; Must have a Job Seeker Validation Code or proof of enrollment in a PGWP-eligible programme;
  • New Brunswick resident;
  • Must have valid English or French language test scores at CLB Level 7 (CLB 7).

Skilled Workers Stream

Under this category, New Brunswick accepts applications from people with a full-time, permanent job offers.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must prove New Brunswick residency;
  • Must have a full-time job offer from a New Brunswick employer and a letter of support;
  • Must have a Canadian high school diploma or foreign equivalent.
  • Age 19-55;
  • Must have valid English or French language test scores at CLB Level 4 (CLB 4).

Business Immigration Stream

Individuals who plan to own and manage a business in New Brunswick can apply under this category. Investors are expected to apply.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have an eligible connection to New Brunswick to submit an Expression of Interest; Must have completed a three-year college degree or a two-year trade diploma.
  • A minimum $600,000 CAD net worth is required. A minimum300,000 CAD must be available and unencumbered.
  • Age 22-55;
  • Must have valid English or French language test scores at CLB Level 5 (CLB 5).

Strategic Initiative Stream

This stream is for Francophone workers with the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the province’s economy and who wish to live and work permanently there.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must live in New Brunswick; Must have a New Brunswick connection.
  • Must have Canadian high school diploma or foreign equivalent;
  • Settlement funds required;
  • Age 19-55;
  • Must have NCLC 5 in French or English.

Critical Worker Pilot

Critical Worker Pilot, introduced in November 2022, allows New Brunswick employers to recruit foreign talent to meet workforce needs.

Atlantic Immigration Program

New Brunswick is one of four Atlantic provinces working with the federal government to recruit foreign workers to fill labour market gaps. Foreign nationals applying to the Atlantic Immigration Program may be abroad or on temporary status in Canada.
